Hello, my lovelies. It has indeed been quite a while since I posted a lookbook. Well, I shouldn’t be making excuses, but life happens. There has been a lot of changes in my life including a tiny human, all alive and kicking 👶🏻. But, in this lookbook we rewind to the ever so magical time of my pregnancy. It is certainly not the most glamorous period in one’s life. The morning sickness, the changing body and most importantly – exercising restraint in your caffeine intake 😛 can definitely take a toll on you. But, being my first, I decided to embrace this period and we jetsetted off to Maui, Hawaii for our babymoon. As I have clearly expressed many a times, beaches are our go to holiday destinations. And Hawaii seems to have a way of beckoning us (over and over) with its tropical weather and magical sunsets. Right off the bat, I knew that our kinda perfect babymoon wouldn’t be complete without a maternity photoshoot. I didn’t have to search far and wide to find amazing photographers (Love + Water) to capture this special time in our lives. We had a great time getting clicked right at the beach, during one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. Here are a few pictures.
About the look : For my dress, I went with a lavender lace and tulle dress. This dress is flowy and light and gave a bohemian vibe to the outfit. I found this on Etsy. I was forever in awe of other pictures on social media where expecting mothers sported a flower crown and I felt that they looked bold and invincible in them. So, I definitely wanted to wear one myself and found this beautiful lavender fall flower crown again on Etsy. I went with a pair of purplish ombre tassel earrings and a simple oversized rose gold ring for accessories. I did not want to take the focus away from the dress and the crown and thus dialed down on the other accessories. For hair and makeup, I went with Salon253 in Maui. They did a great job, giving me a glowy/dewy finish and some simple beach waves. On Mr. S, is a lavender linen shirt that we picked up from Macy’s and a crisp white linen pants (so comfy) from Tommy Hilfiger.
Just a friendly tip for you expecting mothers out there, do plan a babymoon if you get a chance and pamper yourself silly. This is the time that you should be relaxing and preparing for the storm ahead a.k.a baby. (Jokes aside, if not a babymoon, do spend time doing the things you love and rest well). Have you planned a maternity photoshoot as well? If so, what are you planning to wear? Do let me know in comments below.
